OBJECTIVES:
1. Assess the pathophysiology of endothelial dysfunction, including Fuchs’ dystrophy and pseudophakic bullous keratopathy, to determine the most appropriate surgical intervention.
2. Compare and contrast Descemet’s Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSEK), Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK), Artificial Endothelial Replacement, Cell Injection Techniques and other emerging endothelial replacement techniques based on patient selection and surgical outcomes.
3. Implement best practices in donor tissue preparation, intraoperative manipulation, and postoperative management to improve graft adherence and endothelial cell survival.
