Research Synopsis
Dr. Vincent is a passionately dedicated physician and researcher working in the field of Genetic eye disorders. He is actively involved in teaching Ophthalmology residents and fellows in the training program at SickKids.
One half of his clinical activities are dedicated to caring for patients with inherited eye diseases. The other half is spent at the Clinical Electrophysiology Unit at SickKids, for which he is the Medical Director. Electrophysiology tests enable the process of identifying the disease mechanisms underlying various retinal and visual pathway disorders.
He dedicates quality time to conduct research. His research interests include carefully dissecting genetic retinal disorders, adopting various clinical and electrophysiological tools, and to identifying new disease genes, characteristics and mechanisms. He is also keenly interested in animal models of inherited retinal dystrophies.
