Dr. Shaun Singer graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 1980. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine at the Montreal General Hospital, he returned to Toronto for his Residency training in Ophthalmology. In 1984, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Prior to joining the full-time academic staff at the UHN, he was in community practice and held the position of Head of Ophthalmology and Chief of Surgery at the Toronto Doctors Hospital.
He is presently an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and is very active in teaching Ophthalmology at the medical undergraduate and graduate level. His practice is devoted to all ages and the full range of clinical conditions within Comprehensive Ophthalmology. His surgical interest lies predominantly with cataract and related conditions.
