He has given over 230 presentations at meetings throughout the world, and he has had 29 visiting professorships in Canada, United States, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Asia.

Dr. Kraft is widely known for his pioneering work in the use of botulinum toxin (Botox) in eye and related conditions. He was the first physician in Ontario to use botulinum toxin, which he has been using since 1985, and he has published extensively on the results of its use in strabismus and neurologic conditions. His research has also focussed on clinical and surgical advances in treating eye muscle disorders and on children\'s vision development. He teaches actively at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including lectures to orthoptic students in the teaching program at the Hospital for Sick Children.

In 1999 Dr. Kraft was elected to the Association for Research in Strabismus (affectionately known as \"The Squint Club\"). This prestigious group of North American strabismus specialists is limited to 27 members (from among 500 ophthalmologists specializing in this field). He is the second Canadian member ever elected to the group since its founding 55 years ago, and he is currently its only active Canadian member. He has won many clinical and surgical teaching awards from the ophthalmology residents at the University of Toronto, and he has twice been nominated for teaching awards from the Professional Association of Interns and Residents of Ontario (PAIRO). He has also received Honor Awards for continuing education from the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
